At STPLN you will find coworking, events, and spaces for explorations related to culture and creativity. We work inclusively, experimentally, and sustainably with crafts, art, culture and beyond. Come by and say hello, we are happy to show you around.
STPLN is located in the historical building “Kommendanthuset” that was built in 1786 as an arsenal and has since served as a hospital, museum, café, and now the educational activities of Malmö Museum, that we share the building with. Read more about them here!
We are currently exploring how our shared spaces can evolve through an ongoing placemaking process. Using a participatory approach, we invite the STPLN community to share ideas and perspectives. Their input helps shape how these spaces can best support our collective needs.
This work builds on our experience from the EU-funded project Participatory Placemaking, developed together with AKS in Ankara, where we explored collaborative methods for shaping shared environments across contexts.
Our spaces
Free Coworking Space
Opening Hours: Monday — Thursday: 9:00-17:00, Friday 9:00-16:00.
A free drop-in office landscape — no signing in, no membership, just choose a spot and start working. There is access to coffee/tea, a kitchen with a microwave, and fast internet. This space also comes with a meeting room that you book on-site. This room fits for up to 6 people.
STPLN Coworking Space turns into an event space evenings and weekends. Here you will find exhibitions, public talks, or any event that is open to everyone.
Event Space
A large and flexible room, located on the second floor, perfect for organizing an event, an exhibition, a conference, or a workshop for specific invitees, up to 80 people. Half day (up to 4 hours) costs 4000 SEK incl VAT, full day costs 8000 SEK incl VAT.
Sound, light, projector, and whiteboard are available, as well as access to a kitchen and fast internet. More tech is available for hire. Good to know: This is a walk-through space!
All event spaces at STPLN are currently fully booked until summer 2026. We’re very happy about the strong interest in hosting events with us. New dates and opportunities will open again later this spring.

Office Space
A quiet office landscape that is situated on the second floor. Here you’ll find STPLN Crew, some of our partners and members of The Lab. A very local creative eco-system.
A desk space here, and amenities, are included in a membership in The Lab.
