yellow cake / cabinets is a collaborative exhibition by Anders Aarvik and Anne Sofie Skjold Møller. In the space of STPLN, physical objects and immaterial matter, such as mesh networks, dried plants, digital displays, moldy cakes and textiles, are interwoven and displayed.
In the world of matter and ether, electromagnetic material connections form the hegemonic network we know as the internet. The circulation of cultures linked to food and therefore our bodies, through social relations, spaces and positioning, is not to be taken for granted. From within the material infrastructures of societies, a hidden voice whispers: "get used to my ways, make me an unpaid meal, pay me for the services you use with the most private details of your life. I can expect this from you, right?." Like water seeping back into the atmosphere, like trees that keep growing for hundreds of years, like the matter of bodies that dissolves and come back, we, too, return, ungovernable.
