The Lab: Art vs AI: What happens to my content online? with Lorena Ojeda

Art vs AI: What happens to my content online?
My Safe Canvas Kick-off

AI is everywhere, and creative fields are feeling its impact more than most. But do you know what actually happens to your work every time you hit post?

Sharing your art online comes with a hidden cost. Your content can be scraped, processed, and used to train AI models, without your knowledge, without your consent and without any compensation.

Lorena Ojeda will present how AI is reshaping the art world and what it really means for creatives when their work becomes training data. You will leave with a better understanding of how these processes work, what the different types of AI models do and how platforms collect and learn from content shared on social media. Lorena will also speak openly about questions of ownership, consent and unauthorized use, the risks of sharing content online and the emotional and professional toll it can take. Most importantly, she will share practical steps on how to protect your work and build a safer online presence without giving up your visibility.

Lorena is an artist, developer and the founder of My Safe Canvas, a digital platform built to help artists protect their work from AI scraping and online misuse. The platform grew directly out of her own experience navigating the realities of sharing creative work in today´s climate. With a background in both art and technology, she brings a unique perspective that makes this topic easier to understand and above all, act on.
