International Poetry Day

  • STPLN Malmöhusvägen 5 211 18 Malmö Sweden (map)

World Poetry Day Malmö and Lund marks its 15th anniversary on 20–22 March 2026 with a three-day jubilee in Malmö and Lund, bringing together poetry, music, and conversation across languages and borders. The festival features leading international and Swedish voices including Leontia Flynn, Jan Wagner, and Eva Ström, alongside poets, musicians, and organizers working at the intersection of literature, performance, and critical cultural practice.

The program moves from an opening reading and book release at Malmö City Archives to an intensive full-day program at STPLN with presentations, readings, concerts, and in-depth conversations, before concluding with collective readings at Lund City Library.

WORLD POETRY DAY MALMÖ AND LUND 2026 affirms both continuity and renewal within a Nordic and international literary context, supported by the Swedish Academy, the Swedish Arts Council, and the Municipality of Lund, in collaboration with cultural and academic partners.
