Make the Space Yours
Do you have an idea for a workshop, lecture, film screening, exhibition, or community meetup? Two times a year we post an open call for events, in August for fall/winter events and in January for spring/summer events.
STPLN is an open, democratic, and inclusive meeting place in Malmö. To make our house as fair and accessible as possible, we’re launching a new Open Call process for events. You don’t need a big budget or years of experience to apply. We care about your idea and how it brings people together.
How it works: Self-Organized Events
Events in our free spaces are run on a self-organized basis. This means we provide the professional framework and the space for free, while you run the show.
What STPLN provides for free:
The Space: Access to our public ground floor area (Coworking + Mellanrummet).
Basic Tech & Furniture: Projector, screen, basic sound system (via iPad/phone), flexible tables, and chairs.
Kitchen Access: Full use of our equipped kitchen (pumps, mugs, plates, and glasses included—we are a proud plastic-free house!).
Staff Support: Up to 1 hour with our team to hand over keys/tags, test the tech, and publish your event in our official calendar.
What is expected of you as an organizer:
Marketing: You are responsible for promoting your event and reaching your audience.
Hosting: You manage the setup, welcoming your guests, and running the event.
Clean-up: You are responsible for leaving the space clean, tidy, and restoring the furniture to its original layout.

What categories are we looking for?
Whether your project revolves around Design & Crafts, Digital Culture, Music, Dance, Visual Arts, Text & Literature, Theater, Maker Activities, Food & Drink, or something beautifully Interdisciplinary - we want to hear from you!
Key Dates & Practicalities
Application periods: August and January.
Event periods: September – February and March – June.
Capacity note: To protect the house capacity, slots are limited.
